‘Man Vs Machine’ Video Wins Best Video Of The Year!
Oh yeah! On March 9th, the Pure Rawk Awards 2012 was held in London, with nominations for various Video Ink bands, such as Exit State, Martyr De Mona and Obsessive Compulsive. It was Kel and her Manchester alt rockers who pretty much cleaned up the awards with 4 wins, including Best Band, Best Frontperson, Best Album….and Best Video!!! The competition was tough but Obsessive Compulsive had shown their hard work was paying off with the much deserved gongs.
We are delighted to have picked up the Best Video gong for the popular Man Vs Machine video we made for the band in the summer of 2011. Still, we are not about to be banging on then we are ‘Award Winners’, we are happy to have won but will be focusing on making better and better videos. Maybe we will be at the Pure Rawk Awards in 2013, or elsewhere, who knows? One step at a time.
A big thank you to everyone who was involved in this production, from the extras to the set artist, it was awesome! Also a big high five to Obsessive Compulsive (currently touring with Anthrax), they have a bright future!
2012 kicks off in style!
Well 2011 was a great year for Video Ink, a first year and about 40 music videos later we are about to step things up a notch. We have had videos played on Scuzz, Kerrang and The Box and will continue to pull off this broadcast success. Many thanks to all the bands we have worked with in 2011, couldn’t of done all this without them. We provided music videos for bands up and down the country, from Amongst Carrion in Newport, Mortad from London, Witness The Fall from Glasgow, Falling Red from Newcastle and many bands in the North West.
2012…well we have been banging on about releasing our new website and we have actually completed the design, but we have decided to keep our current site for now and update it. Long overdue! We may (or may not) change over later in the year.
We have moved into our new studio at Awol, Hope Mill, the walls are bright blue (not Man City blue!), the radio is on and the productions are flying. So far this year we have shot OurFamous Dead, The Painfull Bliss, Reverbed, Exit State, Matryr De Mona and Post Zero. Upcoming bands we are shooting are Down To A Science, SKAM, Mr.M, Riff X, Fantasist, Deep In The Mire, Inferno and Fed To The Ocean amongst others.
We are focusing on music video production for the entirety of 2012. So we have designed two new services for bands, Video Ink @ The Mill and the Viral Music Video package. Our broadcast option is as strong as ever and is the way to get your band on television.
We are making a substantial investment into new equipment, which will help improve the quality of our videos and resources. Another investment is also a studio fridge, bit off topic, but its greatly needed for the milk round.
We will be posting more updates soon and some new exciting videos….thanks for reading folks. Now for some editing and a curry later!
Video Evolution – from Death Metal to Rap and Beyond!
Well, what can we say?! Other than its been a hell of a year so far – and it promises to be an explosive close of 2011 too.
In December Video Ink will be launching our brand spanking new website – something thats had to be put off somewhat due to the influx of work! BIG news on the Video Ink radar is from December 2011 we will be setting up studio in Manchesters Ancoats! Whilst rubbing shoulders with many more like-minded creative crazies – we will be stepping forwards into the new year developing all the crews skills and our ever-expanding network of collaborations and partnerships – from Record Labels to Broadcasters.
Releases up till the end of the year include London Prog Death Metal outfit Mortad, Manchester Urban artist AMeB as well as Decode, Eocene, Little Volcanoes and rapper C-Script!
Oh – and also in the pipeline is another special short film to celebrate 2012, the end of the world and the beginning of the Video Ink video evolution! PEACE!
Re-defined website coming this summer 2011!
Its been a busy few months at Video Ink! Having worked with some great bands and with some big projects to follow, we see it would be fitting to release our new website this summer – re defined! Our current website hasnt been updated much due to this development, the new site will have all the new projects we have been working on, future events, a more well rounded and informative services section plus other extras.
We have loads of new music videos coming out, each getting airplay on Scuzz and Kerrang! Keep those eyes peeled for Video Ink videos. Also we have the Kelloggs ‘The Apprentice’ video finally coming shortly, our EPK with Bucket from Bad Company and also (touch wood) casting calls for a couple of short films we are trying so hard to get going.
‘Til next time folks.
Derision Music Video Kicks Off Intense 2011 Schedule
Its started then, our music videos from 2011 are swinging into production with the release of our new music video from thrash rockers Derision – a raw, damaged, visceral performance shoot which again shows Video Ink’s diversity when it comes to making music videos that stand out on their own.
To follow this up on a weekly production basis this month, we will be filming Storm Corporation’s ‘Dreamless’, Horizons’ ‘Hadley’s Hope’, Rawcuss with ‘John Travolta’, FYI’s ‘It’s Not Me, It’s You’ and a very, very interesting innovative concept for Leopards track ‘Irony’, we ain’t spilling the beans on that one just yet!!
Soon to come after is the awaited Empires Fade music video with their new frontman and a very special video for popular Manchester rock band Obsessive Compulsive. Our relationship with Rocksector Records has brought us a music video with Nightvision to be shot in early summer, as well as other acts we are yet to announce – all very diverse stuff indeed.
We have recently covered Ready To Rumble Unsigned which has seen over 170 unsigned bands take on each other to win a prestigious prize, one of which includes a music video from Video Ink! The final is coming and we will be doing interviews with the finalists. We also involved with some very, very exciting life changing developments, but we wont be able to tell all about that just yet.
As far as our services go, we are accepting bookings for the rest of 2011. We are rolling out a development process which ensures all the artists and clients we work with get the best product possible. We are currently under an equipment transition as Video Ink focus on innovation and portability, making sure we have distinctive music video productions at an ever increasing rate of quality with a flying turn around!
More news to follow….
Tony the Tiger joins The Apprentice, comic relief style!
We hope Lord Alan Sugar eats his Frosties in the morning, for Tony the Tiger is about to face the wrath of…well, the Kelloggs boss. Video Ink were asked to film an Apprentice style Comic Relief DVD, which pitted two sales teams against each other to sell as much limited edition Comic Relief products as possible in Manchester.
The Kelloggs DVD is currently in edit and is shaping up hilariously. Can’t wait to show everyone what we captured on the day.
‘Face of Fear’ Music Video to be playlisted on Scuzz
It gives us great pleasure to announce that our video for Visitor’s “Face of Fear’ will be playlisted on Scuzz TV in the next coming weeks. Scuzz is the UK’s Most Watched Rock TV Station. The video is an audience favourite among our network, and we are really pleased for the band and the achievement.
The best news for Video Ink is that we will be including automatic submission of our all round packages to stations such as Scuzz on completion of the project. As our development as a promotional video company continues, we are investing in new equipment and crew members in a push to keep producing great videos for the best kick ass bands out there – keeping the quality high and the ideas uniquely distinctive.
More news to follow soon….
John Travolta to star in new music video
Ok, well not quite. Video Ink are proud to announce we will be filming the new music video for Rawcuss, with their excellent track ‘John Travolta’. We are already a big fan of Rawcuss and the concept for the video will be a lot of fun for everybody. Expect John Travolta in some form and some awesome entertainment from the London/Manchester hybrid band.
Singer and songwriter, Gareth Wandless, fronts this three piece band with Seamus Reilley and Daniel Coppock. Drawing influence from bands like the jam, blur, the kinks and anything british. Using this to express his take on modern day life through his lyrics, sometimes funny and often dark, but always performed with conviction and attitude. Gareth and the band are constantly developing towards being a top British band.
Animalistic antics with The Leopards
Video Ink are proud to announce we will be shooting the debut music video for ‘Leopards’, a fresh alternative rock band from Manchester. The single we will be shooting is ‘Irony’, and we are excited by the bright, fun concept we have created for this track.
Leopards consists of 5 members on vocals Jenna Clare, lead guitar Ben Corbett-mills, rhythm guitar Matthew Halsall, drums Rhys Gibson and finally on bass Martin Clark. The band is mainly based in two parts of north-west England, Manchester and Widnes. Taking interest and influence in all genres of music to create unique and original tracks. Leopards feature epic vocals, catchy guitar riffs, quick beats with a spin of bass.
They also feature in last 16 of Ready to Rumble Unsigned. Check them out by clicking the pretty picture.
2 more bands set for shooting
As our portfolio page says, we have announced four new music videos officially, and two of these are set to be shot in the next coming weeks. Derision is heading to crypt where we are filming their music video for the track ‘The Ancients’. Next up is the awesome Stormcorporation with their track ‘Dreamless’, filmed in a bunker and starring Collette Von Tora, a professional model and Bizarre magazine Ultra Vixen. We hope the air raid shelter can take the heat.
Video Ink joins the sponsors with a music video giveaway
Ready to Rumble is set to be the biggest ‘battle of the bands’ ever held in the North West. It will comprise 5 events each one held in the prestigious 53 Degrees venue in Preston, which can accommodate an audience of 400. With a combination of excellent prizes, big name sponsors, and extensive promotional activity the event can attract the best unsigned bands around, which in turn will attract a house filling audience of music lovers.
Video Ink will be giving the winning band a banging, slick music video as a reward for their triumph. We will also be there in the flesh, getting involved in the fun and having which will be a great occasion.
See you there!
Video Ink goes BANG!
January…its cold, miserable and people are turning to 8p packets of noodles to survive. Not much is going on and the world is still. Lucky for us, this isn’t quite the case. Video Ink has started the new year better than we could ever had expected. Despite our services not officially being advertised on this website, we have been busy speaking with the best emerging talent inside the North West. We are actively present on the gig circuit in Manchester and upcoming music festivals, so you may spot us walking about from time to time! Although our portfolio age advertises that we have 3 bands in pre-production, there are many more exciting bands booked in. Thanks to Horizons, Empires Fade, Stormcorporation and the rest – you guys are brilliant.
With each and every project, Video Ink will continue to make each project diverse, different and most important of all, distinctive. Also as important, is the quality and value we strive to give bands to receive an affordable and equally slick product. We have also secured important partnerships to promote our great packages and work alongside the most promising creative people. We will soon be publishing our partners page which will show you who we are involved with and how these links could help bands promote their music.
We also have exciting projects lined up with some major recognised companies in the UK. We will be publishing our new services pages very shortly with information on our music video packages, photography, graphic design, promo video production and business based creative solutions.
Right, well we are very busy, so that will be that for now. Keep an eye out on this website as there will be some amazing promotions you can take advantage of as Video Ink takes on 2011.
Lights on Full Beam for New Year
Well the Video Ink crew are nearing the close of the new year. We’ve played hard, worked harder and now we are almost set for what will be officially our first year come January. We promise more bands, more services, SHORT FILMS and an increasingly higher quality video with every project.
We have just put our newest video online for Hiatus’ ‘This Time I’m Flying’, as well as Visitor, Untold Sorrow, and Empires Fade to launch new year. Our music video service will represent a choice of packages, promotional add-ons and direct submission to satellite TV.
Our events service will also receive a massive push in multi-camera coverage, DVD distribution and editing. Speaking of multi-camera, and our determination to improve the videos we make – we will have a new HD multi-camera set-up, complete with Steadicam and RedRock 35mm cine facilties.
Short Films are also on the agenda, and whilst we unfortunately do not have time to fit this into our schedule at the moment, we will be pushing this very soon in wake of the many festivals and opportunities we can create with young artists interested in film.
Our website will be fully updated, with much more information of Video Ink and what we can provide.
So here’s to a rollercoaster year! Next year….kick ass!!
2011 Launches with Empires Fade
We are delighted to announce that we will be officially kicking off the New Year with Empires Fade on a music video for their upcoming single. The band are currently very busy promoting a new LP, also out in the New Year, in which they will be touring internationally and within the UK.
Their sound is energetic and heavy, so we are promising quite a highly charged video with a spectacular performance. This video will launch our new year when Video Ink will be launching new packages, new videos, new showreel, new crew members and plenty of other video based madness that of course, will all be new.
More announcements soon!
The Latest Mash

Well, what can we say… a lot has been happening with Video Ink recently, we just haven’t stopped filming! There are more music videos in the pipeline including finished videos from Hiatus and DILE. Filming begins with Visitor shortly, as does our much anticipated project with the Untold Sorrow, that will be one to look out for! There are also other music videos coming which we will also be announcing soon with some great local talent on display.
In between all this chaos, we hope to get a short film in there somewhere before Santa comes banging down our chimneys.
As our music video service goes though, a range of package will be released at New year, so our discounted offers are now only available for a couple more months. Get one while you can, and thanks for everyone who has supported us so far.
Music Video Coming with Untold Sorrow
We are pleased to confirm that we are making a music video for Halifax rockers “Untold Sorrow’ for their track ‘Devils Eyes.’
After forming in January 2010, The Untold Sorrow brought a fresh and different sound to the local music scene and debuted at the Sportsman in March 2010.
Fronted by the iconic Tara Lassey on vocals with Guy Lassey on Guitar and Backing Vocals, Andy Chapman on Bass and Chris Jones on Drums, The Untold Sorrow have unloaded everywhere they have played with driven original material that takes something from various different genres from funk to trip hop to metal, it’s not surprising this band have continued to grow in popularity.
After playing a few gigs on the local music scene The Untold Sorrow have since spread their wings a bit and have played succesfull gigs in Rochdale, Wrexham, Edinburgh, Hull and Leeds but to name a few.
With a series of biker events over the last few months, the band have added an entirely new audience and expect to have a busy biker rally season in 2011.
This is a band on the up and a band not to be missed.
‘She Got It All’ Music Video Online Soon
Under a new brand, Video Ink has begun a very busy shooting schedule with some of the most promising local bands. We are pleased to confirm that we are near completion of the video with Manchester’s hardest working R’n'B/Rap group Educated Thugz, for their new single ‘She Got It All’ which features Adam O’Brien of Scratch Recordings. Video Ink has a long running alliance with the Educated Thugz, as we made their first and our first video together.
Educated Thugz are currently ranked No.1 in the World on AKON”S Hitlab – an international competition for artists to win a record contract with one of Americas biggest stars. Seems like they have a very good chance.
We will be posting a trailer soon before the video is released. Watch this space.
Flying the video for Manchester rock band Hiatus
A successful and fulfilling week at Video Ink sees another band added to our newly designed music video production venture. We will be filming the new video for the single ‘This Time I’m Flying’. HIATUS have been honing their craft rehearsing relentlessly and performing wherever and whenever, drawing on many influences. Some of the best venues in the UK have played host to HIATUS, London Astoria (final of Emergenza, winners best guitarist), Various Universities, Manchester and London Academy (various supports for SJM / Mean Fiddler etc..) to name but a few.
Please click the pic and have a listen to some of the bands new tracks.
DILE’s ‘Soul Scene’ music video confirmed!
We are proud to announce that we will be filming the music video to DILE’s new single “Soul Scene” taken from their newly released album Hipsters. Having made their World Cup video through a tremendously successful England effort, we are excited to be working with the band again on another very catchy track – which tels the story of an obscure club in Blackpool, named the Soul Scene. We’ve heard all sorts of stories about it and will be using these to create a humourous and bouncy video. If anybody knows the DJ Lionel Vinyl (whose name is incredibly awesome) we want to hear from you very, very soon.
If you want to buy the new DILE album, please click the album pic on this post and hope for the best.
Metal Band Visitor on for Underground

Video Ink is pleased to announce that we are going to be in production for Manchester based metal band ‘Visitor’ for their single ‘Face Of Fear’ – the first band to be officially announced on our special Underground package.
We will be shooting the video in September due for release in October, where we will be shooting a very sinister, flashy video. There will be more information on this video in the coming weeks.
New Website Up – but not 100% yet!
Thank you for checking out Video Ink. As you can see, its not finished yet and there isn’t much here so sorry for the obvious errors but this will be rectified in the coming weeks as we test out the features and make sure everything is working properly. It takes ages to make these things. But we have the new logo and the design sorted.
Video Ink has an incredibly busy final quarter towards the end of the year – which means more videos, better services and best of all – new films. Remember to look out for the very special (and ridiculous) video offers as we aim to boost our collaborative portfolio and fill the site with high quality content.
Diversity and creativity is the core of what we do
Based in our studio at Hope Mill Manchester UK, Video Ink is a promotional video production company for independent people. We are still young in our formation, but it is our passion for video that is hard to rival. Our flagship is music video production, because we love it, simply.
Our videos gain regular airplay on television, featuring on channels like Scuzz, Kerrang, MTV and The Box. We have strong relationships with broadcasters and have the connections to plug your video onto the tv channels.
We create videos with bright ideas, slick visuals and bags of mood. Each project is serious, yet fun – right from the off we develop a concise and structured project from start to finish, ensuring we have the broadcast quality and slick execution to a tee.
Our number one aim is to be “distinctive”. We treat every project uniquely, tailoring the best out of your image into a bang-on visual feast. We cater for all budgets, big or small and shoot by default in high definition. No band is limited.
Music video isn’t all we do either. We can film whatever you need, providing its clean and for you to promote yourself in what you do.
Thank you
Team Video Ink

We chose them because we knew only Video Ink would have the confidence and understanding of our artistic vision. Getting the chance to work with Adam and Oliver at VideoInk was a real pleasure and a great experience. Face of Fear is our first video as a professional band and what we asked for, they delivered, and exceeded our expectations. Not only are they professional when it comes to the shooting day, they are also fun to be around and have a great work ethic when it comes to getting everything done and keeping to schedule.
